DENVER, Colo. — Martha Balluff, 65, died peacefully in hospice in Denver, Colorado, on April 18, 2017. She was born in Davenport and spent most of her life here. She died of complications of ovarian cancer. She graduated from Assumption High School and the University of Wyoming. She had been a commercial property manager, a caterer, and an organizer. She catered small- and medium-sized gatherings. Martha made great surprise cookies. She was on the Vander Veer Botanical Park Board. She was a charter member of the Manhattan Club. She loved dogs and would sit for them sometimes for a month at a time.

She was predeceased by her father, Bernard Balluff, and her mother, Jeannette, and stepfather, Grover Schneckloth. She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law Steve and Kathy Balluff of Denver. Martha very much loved her nieces Anne O’Reilly of Denver and Laura Balluff of San Jose, California. She was especially keen on her grand-nephews George and Gus O’Reilly of Denver.

She was much loved and is much missed by all who knew her.
